Uh oh.

I really think my computer is on the verge of crashing soon. A blue screen that says "PHYSICAL DUMP OF MEMORY" appears a little too often for me ;___; It also says 'IF THIS IS THE FIRST TIME YOU'VE SEEN THIS SCREEN, RESTART YOUR COMPUTER' And because I'm afraid of the result of this blue screen, I restart my computer, and it goes back to working just fine. Then if Firefox or anything else is acting up, THE BLUE SCREEN APPEARS AGAIN D: My dad already told me that he calls it the 'BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH' (or doom. I don't remember, but it was still bad). I already have, like, no space left on my computer, really, so I don't think I'd be too surprised if it crashed.

On the upside, he did say he'd buy me a new computer since I've had this one since 2001 or 2002. I just hope the current one doesn't crash before I save everything to an external hard drive. I still need to get one of those 8|

Also, LOL WAY TO ONE-UP SOMEONE, TSUNA.

And I saw that MY FAVORITE REVERSE TRAP Makoto, THAT NINJA CHICK WITH THE HUGE FEET BUT SHE'S STILL COOL Ibuki, and the awesome British-and-better-than Balrog boxer Dudley were confirmed for SSFIV and was all hyped and whatnot since I was thinking Guy alone was enough for me. Then I realized that in the end I don't have a PS3 and won't get to play, so i was sad all over again. /sob. I only hope my brother buys it and brings his PS3 the next time he visits and lets me play.

Oh wow almost ten years? Our seven year old desktop barely even runs |D

Well...some of the parts for it failed, though XD The only original part of this computer I'm using is the CPU, and it hasn't really given me too many issues until recently.

;0; sounds like virus or just ancient computer syndrome.
blue screen of death is terrible business, but can usually be fixed if you reinstall your operating system, which would mean erasing all your data. >_< /pets

If you don't have alraedy an external hard drive you should make CDs with important stuff, if you see the BSOF more than a couple of times your computer could really stop working at any moment D; it happened to me, sob.

I've tried doing that a little while ago, but for some reason, my computer will not detect blank cds 8( I do have some stuff on a flash drive already, but I really need an exthd for all the music.

(And kudos for the Ben 10 icon :Bb)

Sometimes it happens to me, too, it's really annoying. Have you tried using another brand of CDs?

(LOL thanks, I love Ben 10 XD)

Yeah, you not knowing what the blue screen of death was= young. ^_^

LOL.

As for the SSF4 cast, they got 2 of 3 chars I wanted. Rather have had Alex instead of Dudley, or even Oro.

My hope now is that Sega brings over the new VF5 in a year or so. (just announced yesterday)

Much as I like Ibuki, I actually wanted to see Yun or Yang make it in over her, but shhh don't tell anyone.

Sega should totally bring that new VF5 to consoles.

Sign that petition then. Best odds we got I think,

My computer had a virus two weeks before that made this screen appear ON A LOOP every time I tried to re-start so I had to lose all my data and reinstall Windows again. I think maybe you should try to save the important stuff and wipe it clean, if it's still weird afterwards, then it's the ancient computer syndrome :/

[identity profile] rikasaurus.livejournal.com 2010-02-20 04:59 am (UTC)(link)
Argh, I'm sorry that happened :(

So far, I have some of the important things saved to a flash drive, but unless I get an exthd, I might risk losing all my music. That's really the main thing I'm worried about.

Yah know... You can get a 360 for like... $200 or even less if you get it used. I'd stay the hell away from Lameflop (Gamestop) though. Try to see if you can get one at Target or Walmart.

As for your computer, what's it saying when it dumps? Is it getting too little/much voltage? What causes it to do that?

[identity profile] rikasaurus.livejournal.com 2010-02-20 04:57 am (UTC)(link)
Eek, Gamestop is a piece of doodoo. Ever since they tried to screw me over when I tried to return a game to them that they sold to me as new, though it was clearly used, I don't really trust them, anymore. Or at least, the one one post, anyway.

I don't remember what the screen says exactly. It just either tells me to do nothing and let it do whatever or restart the computer. I'm afraid to just sit and watch what will happen if I don't restart it. The screen mostly appears when Firefox is running slow or if whatever other program I'm using freezes up.
